The show full of songs from musicals and pop you know and love from the late twentieth century delivered with a twist.
We are now two weeks from opening night on Friday October the 5th and we’re all very excited.
Since my last post we’ve completed casting and been intensively rehearsing.
We’re very pleased to have in our company the accomplished actress/singer Natalie Burg – as you’ve never seen her before – as our Princess Deanna. Music theatre star Andrew Wu as her P.A. Irving. Extraordinary character actor David Gubbay as you’ve never seen him, as Stephanie, Princess Deanna’s Fairy Godmother – every fairytale princess has a fairy godmother!
We’re delighted to have playing a number of smaller, fun roles, talented actor Sarah Hutton.
All supported brilliantly by our accompanist Peta Van Drempt.
What a joy it has been for me to see our cast so enjoying playing with the show – taking my words beyond what I thought they could be.
I was so moved to tears of happiness and pride at our last rehearsal seeing the cast perform the show with such pleasure and gusto.
What follows below is our first piece of publicity:
The column by theatre critic Ken Longworth that appeared in last Thursday’s Newcastle Herald. We are mentioned in the second half of the article. Check it out! And if you like what you see please share this post with your friends and family.
